Portuguese futsal coach Jorge Braz is full of praise for Morocco’s futsal head coach Hicham Dguig, who has consistently taken the Atlas Lions to new heights at major world competitions, including at the ongoing World Cup in Uzbekistan.
Speaking on Thursday after Morocco beat Panama to qualify to the new round of the tournament, Braz stressed his “great admiration” for the Moroccan Atlas Lions.
“I have great admiration for the Moroccan team.. Their character, motivation, the risks they take during matches, and their style of play. I really like this team for the great work done, especially during the last Africa Cup, which was won by the Moroccan team,” he told the press.
Braz sees Morocco, under the impressive leadership of Dguig, as one of the contenders to win the ongoing World Cup.
As Portugal prepares to take on Morocco in the final group game for both teams, Braz said he expects a very difficult and tricky match.
“In the last edition of the World Cup, we drew 3-3. We want to secure the top spot in the group, and Morocco does too. It will be a great futsal match,” he explained.
Portugal and Morocco have both qualified for the Round of 16, meaning both teams will be looking to finish top of their group in the hope of an easier draw for their next match.
