Morocco’s Government Council approved several high-level appointments in a meeting held in Rabat today.
The appointments, approved following Article 92 of the Constitution, span multiple ministries and key institutions.
Samira El Malizi will lead Morocco’s National Library (BNRM) as a director after serving in an interim capacity since October 2024.
El Malizi will oversee BNRM’s activities under the Cultural Department of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
Under the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urbanism, Housing, and City Policy, Mohamed Naainiaa will serve as director of the Urban Agency of El Kelaa des Sraghna-Rhamna, progressing from his interim role which he held since October 2019.
The council promoted Zohra Tazi from interim to permanent Director of Strategy and Cooperation under the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social Economy.
For the education sector, Lahcen Bammou will take the helm at the Higher School of Technology in Ouarzazate within the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation.
The Ministry of National Education saw two appointments as well. Moulay Youssef Azhari will serve as Director General of Pedagogical Action, while Hsain Oujour will supervise the Second Chance School and Inclusive Education.
These appointments signal a fresh change in leadership across vital sectors including culture, urban development, tourism, and education.
Appointees bring extensive experience in their respective fields, and are set to effectively advance mm their institutions’ objectives.
