The Mohammed VI International Road Safety Prize, unveiled on Tuesday in Marrakech, is a testament to the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, who has made road safety a top national priority.
Announced at the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, this prize strengthens the Kingdom’s international standing and underscores its pioneering role in advancing road safety initiatives worldwide, according to a press release from the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.
This five-million-dirham award was jointly granted to the WHO and the UN Road Safety Fund for their efforts in developing comprehensive strategies for preventing and reducing road crashes.
“It seeks to encourage initiatives and actions undertaken by stakeholders dedicated to combating this scourge,” the statement emphasized.
The Mohammed VI International Road Safety Prize will be awarded at each edition of the Conference to honor exemplary contributions and best practices aimed at enhancing road safety worldwide.
The announcement of this award was met with enthusiasm and received a warm welcome from the delegations attending the event, reflecting international support for Morocco’s efforts in this field.
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety is initiated by Morocco’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
Organized under the theme “Commit to life”, this international event brings together official delegations led by over 100 ministers responsible for transport, the interior, infrastructure and health.
