Pursuant to High Instructions from His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), a FAR detachment took part in the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of the Union of the Comoros, following an invitation extended to Morocco.

The FAR detachment, made up of a platoon from the 2nd Parachute Infantry Brigade, took part in the military parade commemorating the national independence day in the capital Moroni on Sunday, alongside the Comorian Armed Forces, according to a press release from the FAR General Staff.

The FAR’s participation in these festivities testifies to the strong and excellent relations of friendship and fraternity that bind the two countries, particularly in the military area, the same source added.

The Kingdom, as part of its policy of solidarity with African countries, participates in supporting them, but also wishes to share their joy on the occasion of significant commemorations, it concludes.
