Morocco’s leading telecommunications company, Maroc Telecom, has dropped its iconic blue and orange colors for a striking new red identity, marking what the company calls a historic turning point as it positions itself for the digital age.
Maroc Telecom, a major player in Africa’s telecom sector, announced the rebrand as part of its strategy to embrace Morocco’s “Digital Morocco 2030” vision and the rollout of 5G technology across the country.
“The Group has chosen to enter a new chapter in its story,” the company said in a statement. “In a context of accelerated innovation and the expectations of a more ambitious Morocco, Maroc Telecom boldly affirms its commitment to drive transformation in the sector.”
A fresh color for a new era
The company’s signature blue and orange hues — colors that defined its early founding years — now give way to red, the color of Morocco’s flag and a symbol of national pride and passion.
The shift reflects the energy of a Morocco on the move and a brand that is reimagining itself for modern times.
While the color palette has changed dramatically, Maroc Telecom hasn’t abandoned its roots, according to the statement. The new logo keeps the signature curves that have long defined the brand’s visual identity, but transforms them into something more fluid and organic.
The curves now flow with greater confidence, representing the constant movement of data, the circulation of energy, and the continuity of human connection.
The digital facet that once appeared in the logo has disappeared, replaced by a unified, streamlined symbol where the red curves become the brand’s complete visual language.
The main curve evokes the national network connecting every corner of Morocco — from Tangier to Lagouira, or Oujda to Dakhla. It illustrates how information moves, bridging heritage and future with limitless ambition.
Its organic fluidity breaks away from the rigid symbols typical of traditional telecom companies, expressing a powerful belief: Maroc Telecom isn’t just cold infrastructure, but a human, living, and warm connection.
A secondary curve — lighter and more dynamic — acts as a visual accent, suggesting a signal lighting up, a connection forming, the promise of change.
Together, these two curves tell the story of a strengthened connection between Maroc Telecom and its ecosystem.
National goalkeeper becomes brand face
To embody this transformation, Maroc Telecom has tapped Yassine Bounou, Morocco’s celebrated national team goalkeeper, as its new brand ambassador.
The football hero symbolizes what the company wants to represent: an ambitious brand proud of its identity, connected to Morocco’s youth, and driven by collective performance.
His journey inspires the confidence, boldness, and passion that animate this new era.
Mohamed Benchaâboun, CEO of Maroc Telecom Group, framed the rebrand as both a continuation and a leap forward.
“Changing our visual identity marks a new stage in Maroc Telecom’s history,” he said. “It illustrates the continuity of a journey built on proximity, innovation, and trust, while affirming our openness to the future.”
Benchaâboun added that the new symbol expresses the collective energy of the company’s teams, its commitment to excellence, and its pledge to support the kingdom’s digital transformation.
“True to its heritage, Maroc Telecom continues its mission: connecting territories, bringing people closer, and contributing to the development of an increasingly connected and high-performing Morocco.”
The company says it will work to strengthen its connection with younger generations, make innovation visible, and continue serving customers with both high standards and humanity.
