Belgium’s Minister of Justice, Annelies Verlinden, praised on Monday in Brussels the “excellent” level of judicial cooperation with Morocco, stressing that both countries are actively collaborating to jointly address common challenges related to security and the fight against organized crime.

In a statement to the press following her talks with Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi, Verlinden highlighted the high quality of collaboration between the judicial authorities of the two countries, noting the signing today of an action plan aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation in this field.

This action plan, based on “a relationship of trust that both countries wish to further strengthen,” reflects the shared commitment of Brussels and Rabat to intensify the fight against organized crime, she said.

In a similar statement, Ouahbi expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the discussions he had with the Belgian Minister of Justice, noting that these talks reflect the strength and depth of the relationship between Morocco and Belgium in various areas.

He pointed out that the discussions focused on several matters of common interest, notably the exchange of judicial and security information as well as the transfer of detainees, adding that the action plan signed between the two ministries will be implemented in the near future.
