The African Union (AU) Commission expressed its deep gratitude to Morocco for its “exemplary” hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In a press release, AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf expressed “the Commission’s profound appreciation to His Majesty the King, the government and the people of the Kingdom of Morocco” for the “exemplary” organization of the tournament.
Ali Youssouf also praised Morocco’s outstanding hospitality and the professionalism shown by the Kingdom in organizing the competition.
“The successful hosting of the AFCON once again reflects Africa’s growing capacity to stage world-class sporting events that unite the continent and inspire global admiration,” he added.
“AFCON has once again demonstrated that the beautiful game is a powerful force for unity, bringing Africans together across cultures, borders, and generations,” the AU Commission Chairperson said.
He also wished all African teams, including Morocco, continued success as they carry Africa’s pride and passion onto the global stage, particularly at this year’s World Cup.
