Royal Air Maroc has signed a long-term leasing agreement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) for 13 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The deliveries are set to begin in 2027.
This latest deal builds on an earlier agreement between the two parties, under which Royal Air Maroc leased two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft that were delivered in 2025. The agreement reflects Royal Air Maroc intention to expand its network and enhance its operational capacity.
Abdelhamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, emphasized the strategic importance of the agreement, stating that “this agreement is fully aligned with Royal Air Maroc’s strategic ambition to become a leading global connector.
“The Boeing 737-8 Aircraft will strengthen our network development capabilities, enabling new route openings and increased frequencies with greater operational efficiency,” he added.
Addou stressed that the new aircraft will provide greater flexibility to respond to rising passenger demand, while ensuring reliable connectivity between Africa, Europe, and other international destinations.
Commenting on the agreement, Firoz Tarapore, CEO of DAE, welcomed the agreement, thanking Royal Air Maroc for selecting DAE as a strategic partner in its fleet development plans.
He said “we would like to thank the team at Royal Air Maroc for choosing DAE to partner on this significant fleet expansion project.
He highlighted Morocco’s growing role as a tourism and economic hub in Africa, stating that “Morocco is a fast-growing tourist and business hub in Africa, with expanding air connectivity led by Royal Air Maroc.”
Tarapore also reaffirmed DAE’s commitment to supporting Royal Air Maroc’s future aircraft requirements, stressing that the addition of these planes will play a key role in strengthening the airline’s medium-haul fleet.
This long-term partnership underscores the mutual commitment between Royal Air Maroc and DAE to strengthen air transport infrastructure in Morocco and across Africa, creating new business opportunities, enhanced connectivity, and the continued development of the national carrier as a hub for regional and international air travel.
