The major achievements accomplished in 2025 by the National Observatory for Children’s Rights (ONDE) regarding child protection and the promotion of their fundamental rights are the result of a collective effort and synergy among various actors, in accordance with the High Royal Guidelines calling for the strengthening of solidarity and cohesion between different institutions, stated the Observatory’s Vice-President, Ghizlane Benjelloun, on Monday in Rabat.

“The year 2025 was rich in achievements, thus translating commitments into actions on the ground, based on innovation and solid institutional action, while placing children’s health at the top of our priorities,” highlighted Benjelloun, speaking at ONDE’s annual meeting, held in the presence of its institutional, public, and private partners.

Holding this meeting is the culmination of sustained action, carried out in accordance with the High Guidelines of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, President of the National Observatory for Children’s Rights, whose constant support and unwavering commitment “remain the main driving force behind our initiatives and projects,” she added.

Reviewing the Observatory’s various achievements, particularly in health, digital innovation, justice, and the strengthening of children’s participation, notably through the Children’s Parliament, she highlighted the success of the 17th National Congress on Children’s Rights. She also emphasized ONDE’s international reach, cemented by the organization of the 1st edition of the African Forum of the Children’s Parliament in November 2025 in Rabat, thereby confirming Morocco’s position as a hub for South-South cooperation.

Furthermore, Benjelloun welcomed the signing of several partnership agreements during this meeting. These agreements reflect this dynamic and the deep conviction that child protection is a shared national responsibility requiring the mobilization of all actors, each within their area of expertise.

These partnerships, she specified, also embody the concrete implementation of the High Royal Guidelines aimed at strengthening the integrated protection of children and guaranteeing their rights to health, education, participation, and protection against all forms of violence.

Moreover, this meeting was marked by the presentation of ONDE’s Action Plan for the year 2026, which aims to consolidate achievements, promote innovation, and enhance the impact of future actions through structuring projects and sustainable partnerships for children’s rights in Morocco. The ultimate goal is for every child in society to benefit from integrated protection, guaranteed rights, and opportunities to thrive, thanks to innovative public policies and strong partnerships.

Government members, heads of public establishments and institutions, international agencies and partners, as well as members of the Observatory’s Board of Directors, took part in this annual ONDE meeting.
