Morocco’s Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) inked a partnership agreement to promote safe and reliable investment environment to enhance economic attractiveness.

According to a joint press release, this agreement, signed in accordance with the provisions of Dahir No. 1-09-213 concerning the DGSN and the special status of National Security personnel, Law No. 60-16 establishing the AMDIE, and Law No. 04-20 regarding the National Electronic Identity Card (CNIE), is structured around two major pillars.

The first priority focuses on utilizing the national trusted third party, developed by the DGSN, by authorizing the AMDIE’s use of CNIE’s technical features, the press release explains, adding that these features are now made available to the AMDIE through electronic mechanisms that enable the authentication of CNIEs and their holders, with a view to protecting the interests of citizens and the State and improving the quality of services provided.

The second focus area concerns mutual capacity building through mobilizing experts to provide specialized training on the detection of document fraud and identity theft, as well as the fight against economic and financial crime and money laundering.

Through this partnership, DGSN and AMDIE reaffirm commitment to promoting a business climate conducive to investment, based on trust, performance, and innovation, and protective of the Kingdom’s strategic interests, the press release concludes.
