Moroccan mountaineer Nawal Sfendla, who recently climbed both Everest and Lhotse in a single expedition, stated on Monday in Rabat that the audience granted to her by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, is a source of immense pride motivating her to continue representing Morocco with dignity.
“It is an immense honor and an unparalleled joy. It is a dream come true for me to be received by His Majesty the King,” Sfendla told the press following the Royal audience.
Sfendla, who was awarded the Wissam Al Moukafaa Al Watania of the Order of Officer by the Sovereign on this occasion, expressed her deep gratitude for the encouragement and congratulations from His Majesty the King, may God preserve Him.
“I hope to achieve another goal — not only climbing mountains, but also inspiring young people to dream big, dare to try, and work tirelessly” to meet challenges, she said.
She emphasized that the most meaningful dreams require “a lot of work.” “You should never give up and must believe in your dreams with all your heart,” she concluded.
