Following the information circulated on certain social media platforms regarding the arrest of the individual named (A.M), the King’s Prosecutor at the Casablanca Correctional Court announced that the individual concerned was arrested at the Tangier airport on the basis of several wanted notices previously issued against him. This was due to his alleged involvement in committing acts criminalized by law, against the backdrop of the suspect publishing a series of digital content containing defamatory and insulting remarks against individuals and institutions, as well as contemptuous statements toward bodies governed by law.
The King’s Prosecutor at the Casablanca Correctional Court said in a statement that, upon instructions from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the individual concerned was transferred to the headquarters of the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ) in Casablanca, as the brigade in charge of the investigation.
The suspect has been placed in police custody for the purposes of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to question him regarding the acts he is accused of. This is being done in full respect of all the procedural guarantees granted to him by law and the presumption of innocence, the same source emphasizes.
The person concerned will be brought before this same Public Prosecutor’s Office upon the completion of the investigation in order to determine the appropriate legal action, the statement concludes.
