The 2nd Africa-CARICOM (Caribbean Community) Summit, held Sunday in Addis Ababa, enshrined the principles of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, as well as the UN Security Council’s primary responsibility in maintaining international peace and security, as sacred principles of the United Nations Charter.

Concluding the 2nd Africa-CARICOM Summit, the Addis Ababa Declaration on the Transcontinental Partnership on Reparatory Justice for Africans and People of African Descent reaffirmed the principles of respect for state sovereignty, territorial integrity, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, and good-neighborliness as sacred principles of the United Nations Charter.

Furthermore, the joint communiqué issued at the Summit reiterated the UN Security Council’s primary responsibility in maintaining international peace and security in light of the evolving international security situation, which poses multiple threats to peace, security, and stability on the African continent and in the CARICOM region.

Morocco is participating in this Summit with a delegation led by the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Morocco to the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa, Mohammed Arrouchi.
