Airports Authority: Fire Contained at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport

The National Airports Authority (ONDA) announced that it has managed to put out a fire that broke out on Thursday evening in the cargo area of Royal Air Maroc at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca.

According to the official statement that was released today, March 28, the fire erupted at approximately 7:30 p.m,. The firefighters who were stationed at the airport immediately responded and coordinated with the necessary personnel.

The statement added that firefighting trucks for the airport’s emergency services, along with civil protection units and Royal Gendarmerie were deployed to the scene, managing to bring the blaze fully under control by 9:00 pm.

Luckily, the incident didn’t result in any human casualties, but the ONDA reported material damages, with an investigation underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
