The Board of Directors of Al Mada, in a meeting on Friday has elected to appoint Noufissa Kessar as the group’s new Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect, taking over from the late Hassan Ouriagli.
“Following the death of Hassan Ouriagli, Chief Executive Officer of Al Mada, the Board of Directors, in a meeting today, paid him tribute for his leadership, his numerous achievements and his exemplary devotion to the group. His commitment marked the history of Al Mada, and strongly contributed to its strategic position on the national and African economy,” the group says in a press release.
Al Mada took this opportunity to address its sincere condolences to the family of Hassan Ouriagli, as well as the group’s collaborators, sharing their sorrow at this moment of deep emotion.
The appointment of Noufissa Kessar forms part of the continued commitment of Al Mada for innovation, sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Kessar built her career within the group, starting from the group’s bank, then the Al Mada holding as Deputy Director General, where she actively contributed to the group’s strategic projects and global development.
A graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Kessar spent most of her career with the Al Mada Group, first at Attijariwafa Bank, where she was involved in the creation of Attijari Finances Corp, among other things, before joining the holding company. She is also a director of certain subsidiaries of the Al Mada Group.
Under Kessar’s leadership, Al Mada will consolidate its ongoing development, innovation, and contribution to economic and social progress in Morocco and internationally, in line with the values set by the Group’s shareholders, the press release concludes.
