The Managing Director of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, held on Monday, at the headquarters of the Governorate in Al-Ram, north of Al-Quds, a series of meetings devoted to assessing the partnership programs implemented with the Governorate during 2025, as well as reviewing prospects for cooperation between the two parties in 2026.
During these meetings, which were attended in particular by the Deputy Governor, Abdellah Siyam, along with several senior officials of the Governorate, the projects carried out over the year were presented, with a budget exceeding 400,000 US dollars. These projects covered the sectors of education, health, and agriculture, in addition to the financing of small productive projects and the implementation of social assistance programs.
On this occasion, Siyam stated that the meeting provided an opportunity to review a range of assistance measures, initiatives, and support mechanisms, noting that the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency carries out almost every month an action or initiative aimed at providing support and assistance to the residents of the Al-Quds Governorate, whether through support to Al-Quds institutions, assistance to individuals, or cooperation during the olive harvest season and other programs.
He added that, in light of the difficult conditions faced by the Al-Quds Governorate and its inhabitants, this support from the Kingdom of Morocco helps alleviate the suffering and hardships endured by citizens of Al-Quds as a result of the measures imposed by the occupation.
For his part, the Head of Information and Public Relations at the Governorate, Marouf Al-Rifai, praised the humanitarian role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency and its officials, expressing his special thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, “who spares no effort in supporting the city of Al-Quds.”
Al-Rifai affirmed that the Agency’s projects constitute “a gift offered to the residents of Al-Quds on behalf of the brotherly Moroccan people, in support of the steadfastness of Palestinians in their city.”
Following these meetings, a new agreement was signed between the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency and the Al-Quds Governorate concerning the coverage of accommodation for patients from the Gaza Strip and their companions in Al-Quds for a period of six months. This agreement covers accommodation, meals, medication, physiotherapy, as well as transportation costs to educational institutions and healthcare centers.
Cherkaoui began, on Monday, a visit to the Holy City that will continue until December 25, as part of his duties at the helm of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, in order to monitor the progress of several projects implemented by the Agency in Al-Quds.
