Prominent figures in Al-Quds have praised the role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, as well as the economic and human impact of its initiatives in reinforcing the resilience of the Holy City’s residents.

On Monday, the Agency released a briefing on the outcomes of its large-scale social assistance campaign, carried out throughout this year’s holy month of Ramadan, highlighting its presence on the ground as the executive arm of the decisions of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, through an approach combining direct aid and sustainable projects aimed at bolstering the resilience of Al Quds residents on their land.

In this context, several Palestinian religious and national figures underscored the importance of the Agency’s role in shouldering Al-Quds’ residents and the Palestinian people, noting that the initiatives carried out during Ramadan served as a concrete model of solidarity in the face of growing challenges.

They also highlighted the impact of these initiatives, which extends beyond the humanitarian aspect into economic and moral dimensions, helping to boost commercial activity, support social stability, and reinforce among the residents of the Holy City the sense of constant support from their Moroccan brothers.

According to the Agency’s statistics, this year’s campaign budget reached approximately one million dollars, benefiting more than 5,000 Al-Quds families, including 3,000 within the Holy City and 2,000 in Bedouin villages and communities.

The aid consisted of distributing food baskets with 22 basic items, as well as 5,112 vouchers worth 350 shekels each (approximately $140), benefiting thousands of families in Al-Quds and surroundings.

Additionally, 20 tons of food were distributed, primarily to social centers and hospitals—including the hospital of the Islamic philanthropic association “Al Makassed”—to prepare 20,000 iftar and suhoor meals during the holy month, at a rate of 700 meals per day.

The campaign concluded with the distribution of Eid clothing to 500 orphans under the Agency’s care, as well as to an additional 100 children from villages and Bedouin communities within the Al-Quds Governorate.

In the health sector, six mobile medical campaigns were organized in remote villages and areas, benefiting approximately 600 people who received services in internal medicine, ophthalmology, gynecology and obstetrics, as well as on-site medical tests.

The Agency expanded its activities to include economic empowerment programs, through training sessions for merchants in the fields of e-commerce and legal procedures related to exporting, in partnership with the local chamber of commerce.

It also organized a week-long training program on Moroccan crafts in Beit Hanina, led by a select group of Moroccan artisans specializing in weaving, woodcarving, and metalwork, benefiting nearly 400 trainees, 36 of whom were selected for the final phase.
