Al-Quds Governor Adnan Ghait on Tuesday hailed the strategic partnership between the Holy City and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, emphasizing its role in improving social conditions for Palestinians in health, education, employment, and agriculture.
During talks in Rabat on Tuesday with Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, the director managing the agency, Ghait expressed hopes for an expanded partnership, commending Morocco’s efforts under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in supporting the Palestinian cause.
Cherkaoui reaffirmed that the Al-Quds governorate, the highest Palestinian official representation in the city, is a key strategic partner of the agency, adding that the joint program includes funding income-generating micro-projects for 60 low-income families as part of the Citizen Initiatives for Human Development in Al-Quds.
It also includes supporting the annual olive harvest campaign, benefiting 1,800 farmers across 28 villages, by providing essential equipment to streamline operations, as well as sponsoring an annual ceremony for outstanding students, with 45 recipients last year across all disciplines.
The program also provides social assistance during Ramadan, targeting vulnerable families and institutions such as orphanages and elderly care homes.
Cherkaoui reiterated the agency’s commitment to Al-Quds and its residents, in line with HM King Mohammed VI’s directives, ensuring that funds are equitably distributed and reach their intended beneficiaries through cooperation with legitimate Palestinian institutions.
