The signing, on Friday in Brussels, by Morocco and the European Union (EU) of an exchange of letters amending the agricultural agreement, enshrines the sustained development momentum in the Kingdom’s southern provinces, Spanish academic, Rafael Esparza Machín, said.
“The populations of the southern provinces directly benefit from massive public investments in infrastructure, health, education, jobs and social protection,” Esparza Machín told MAP.
The volume of these investments embodies the Kingdom’s determination to make its southern provinces a genuine regional hub of prosperity and stability, he noted.
He also emphasized that this agreement bolsters the existing political mechanisms and paves the way for more ambitious and structured cooperation with the EU, with the goal of achieving a deeper strategic partnership.
According to the academic, this amendment enshrines the remarkable transformations in the Moroccan Sahara, which has become one of the most modern and dynamic regions of Africa.
