Allegations circulating on social media platforms claiming that a minor girl was kidnapped by strangers in the province of Taounate are unfounded, the Crown Attorney at the Court of First Instance in the province said in a statement.
A preliminary investigation conducted by the judicial police under the supervision of the competent public prosecution also found to be baseless claims that the child had been found in critical condition following the alleged abduction, says the same source.
According to the girl’s father and other relatives, the child suffers from psychological disorders that occasionally cause her to leave home. On this occasion, the public prosecution urges citizens and social media users to exercise vigilance and verify information through official sources in order to avoid spreading false news.
