The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency on Monday launched a medical support project for Arab hospitals in Al-Quds, aimed at strengthening the resilience of the health sector in the Holy City.
The launch of this project, targeting several Arab hospitals in Al-Quds, took place in the presence of El Mehdi Bouanane, Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Palestine.
Among the beneficiary institutions are the charitable Islamic hospital “Al-Makassed,” Augusta Victoria Hospital (Al-Mutla’), the Al-Quds Red Crescent Hospital, the Arab Health Center, and the clinics of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
This initiative included the distribution of medical equipment, medicines, and oxygen cylinders to the surgery and emergency departments of Arab hospitals in the Holy City.
Speaking on this occasion, Bouanane emphasized that “the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, continues its noble and tangible actions in various fields, particularly the medical sector in Al-Quds.”
“The Agency delivered today a new batch of medical equipment, fully funded by the Kingdom of Morocco, to support the emergency and surgery services of Arab hospitals in Al-Quds,” Bouanane noted, stressing that “this ongoing support is part of efforts to strengthen the resilience of the health sector in Al-Quds, ensuring the availability of care and treatment for the population thanks to strategic partnerships with the Arab hospitals of the Holy City.”
For his part, Adnan Farhoud, Deputy Director General of the Al-Makassed Charitable Hospital, expressed his deep gratitude for the support provided by the Kingdom to the health sector of the Holy City.
This initiative will directly contribute to saving lives and enhancing the hospital’s capacity to continue fulfilling its humanitarian mission under appropriate conditions, he added.
Dr. Daoud Abdine, Administrative Director and Project Manager at Al-Makassed Hospital, highlighted “the vital projects implemented by the Agency in recent years, including support initiatives for Gazans stranded in Al-Quds during the war, providing them with accommodation and essential items until their return.”
“This new batch of basic medical equipment is of great importance, as it will ensure the continuity of the hospital’s services, given the significant financial challenges it faces,” he stressed.
Similarly, Dr. Nihad Ad’eis, Medical Director of the Red Crescent Hospital, expressed her deep gratitude for Morocco’s ongoing support to the health sector in Al-Quds.
She highlighted the major role played by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency and the Moroccan Association for Support to Reconstruction in Palestine, noting that this annual support, symbolizing the generosity of the Kingdom, directly strengthens the hospital’s ability to continue its activities and provide the best possible medical care to the residents of Al-Quds.
Echoing this, Mahmoud Alayan, Administrative Director of the Red Crescent Hospital, stressed the importance of the support provided by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, recalling that since 2006 the Agency has been offering consistent annual assistance through the provision of emergency medical equipment, thereby helping ensure the continuity of health services in the Holy City, in addition to humanitarian aid to the populations of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
In the same vein, Dr. Khouloud Al-Ashhab, Director of the Pharmaceutical Services Department at Al-Mutla’ Hospital, stated that “the support provided today by the Agency to the patients of this health facility, who come from both the northern and southern West Bank, is a humanitarian gesture we deeply appreciate,” adding that it will contribute to the proper functioning of the hospital’s various departments.
The Director of the Arab Health Center, Dr. Ahmed Srour, praised the ongoing commitment of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, which has been supporting the center for about twenty years through numerous projects. He added that the Agency provides concrete and sustainable support to ensure the continuity of the Center’s services (which include two clinics in Bab Al-Sahira and Al-Eizariya, as well as two others on the esplanade of the Mosques).
He also commended the Agency’s considerable efforts to improve service quality, thereby ensuring better care for the residents of Al-Quds and the visitors of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, plays a major role in providing the hospitals and health centers of the Holy City with medical equipment, medicines, and modern materials, with the goal of strengthening their capacity to appropriately meet the growing healthcare needs.
