The interventions and initiatives of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency over the past 25 years have left a “great imprint” on the Holy City, said, on Thursday in Tunis, Palestinian Minister of Al-Quds Affairs, Ashraf Hassan Abbas Al-Awar.
The Agency has played an “effective” role in the education and health sectors in Al-Quds, he told MAP, on the sidelines of a conference on “the reality of education in Al-Quds”, held at the headquarters of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).
The Palestinian minister called on other countries to follow Morocco’s example through the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency which, under the supervision of HM King Mohammed VI, is acquiring real estate to build new schools in the Holy City and rehabilitating existing ones, explaining that such initiatives supporting education in Al-Quds will help ensure that Palestinian pupils continue to be taught according to Palestinian curricula.
For his part, director of Education and Teaching in Al-Quds, Samir Jibril, noted in a similar statement that the “excellent initiatives” undertaken by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency for the benefit of education in the Holy City have had a significant impact, from the acquisition of buildings for conversion into schools, to the construction of new schools, the creation of additional classrooms and the maintenance of existing schools.
The Palestinian official also praised the educational and recreational activities organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI by the Agency for the benefit of the Holy City’s pupils, notably the vacation camps in Morocco.
