Belgium is committed to contributing to promoting partnership between Morocco and the European Union (EU) at all levels, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said Monday in Rabat.
“The Kingdom of Morocco is a strategic and key partner for the European Union,” De Croo underlined during a joint press briefing with Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, following the 3rd meeting of the Morocco-Belgium High Joint Partnership Commission.
This meeting was an opportunity to reiterate “our commitment to contribute to reinforcing this partnership at all levels,” added De Croo, whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the EU Council.
In this regard, he praised the excellence of the “quality, longstanding and deep relations” between the two Kingdoms, expressing his country’s will to further develop and strengthen this strategic partnership.
De Croo also praised Morocco’s “potential and ambitions”, particularly in green hydrogen, welcoming the memorandum of understanding signed during this meeting between the two countries in the field of green energy.
“We want to further promote our economic partnership. The Moroccan investment charter and Morocco’s offer regarding green hydrogen offer significant investment opportunities for our Belgian companies,” he said.
Regarding the memorandum of understanding in the field of modernization of the Judicial Administration, also signed this Monday, he noted that cooperation between the two countries’ Justice ministries “will help us to better combat organized crime”.
