The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ), an institution operating under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by HM King Mohammed VI, presented its recent achievements at the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Yaoundé.

Represented by Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, the Director in charge of management, the Agency highlighted the efforts of the Al-Quds Committee and detailed the outcomes of its initiatives aimed at supporting the Palestinian population.

This presentation included a comprehensive report that was distributed to the various delegations attending the session, covering the Agency’s activities between the 49th session in Nouakchott and the current meeting.

The report reviewed key programs and projects the Agency continues to implement in Al-Quds, reflecting its commitment to its social and humanitarian mission. Among these initiatives are the local restoration program, which has already targeted over 100 properties in the historic city and surrounding neighborhoods.

As part of its 2024 action plan, BMAQ announced the launch of its digital strategy for 2024-2027. This strategy will focus on five main areas: a youth innovation incubator for Palestinian projects, a platform for preserving and documenting Al-Quds’ cultural heritage, a social commerce platform called Dalala, a distance education platform in partnership with Al-Quds University, and a range of gaming and entertainment applications designed for children and teenagers.

In addition to these new projects, the Agency continues to provide social assistance to vulnerable groups and individuals with disabilities in Al-Quds. This includes human development projects, as well as cultural and social programs targeting youth and children.

The report also noted the period’s significant challenges, particularly the tragic events following October 7, 2023. Despite these difficulties, the Agency has remained steadfast in its mission, guided by High Royal Instructions to deliver aid to Palestinians. The Kingdom of Morocco successfully transported food aid by land to the Palestinian residents of Gaza and the Holy City of Al-Quds.
