Cash Plus and PayPal have launched Morocco’s first digital PayPal withdrawal service, according to a joint press release issued on Monday. The new partnership allows Moroccan PayPal users to instantly withdraw their balances in Moroccan dirhams through the Cash Plus Mobile app.
The service eliminates the need for branch visits, paperwork, or intermediaries. Cash Plus is now the only provider in Morocco offering digital PayPal withdrawals, creating a fully digital solution for the country’s freelancers, entrepreneurs, creators, and e-commerce sellers.
“At PayPal, we believe financial services should be digital first, accessible, inclusive, and designed for how people live and work today,” said Otto Williams, Senior Vice President, Regional Head and General Manager for Middle East and Africa at PayPal.
Williams added that the partnership brings this vision to life in Morocco by offering “an all-in-one wallet experience that makes withdrawing PayPal earnings faster, simpler, and entirely branch-free.”
The timing aligns with Morocco’s efforts to bolster its growing digital economy, which now includes over 18 million internet users. The country’s digital payments market is projected to grow from $14.29 billion in 2025 to over $35 billion by 2030.
This collaboration also supports Morocco’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy, which aims to bring 75% of the adult population into the formal financial system by 2030. The new service addresses a significant gap for Morocco’s digital workforce by enabling instant access to global earnings without requiring a foreign bank account.
Nabil Amar, President of the Cash Plus Group, described the partnership as “a key milestone in our mission to democratize access to global financial services.”
“By enabling instant, secure withdrawals in MAD, we’re empowering Morocco’s digital generation with the autonomy, speed, and simplicity they expect – all within a single app,” Amar stated.
The partnership reflects PayPal’s broader strategy to expand across the Middle East and Africa through localized collaborations that connect more people to the global digital economy.
Cash Plus is a licensed payment institution by Bank Al Maghrib that provides various financial and para-financial services. PayPal has been operating globally for more than 25 years, creating payment solutions in approximately 200 markets worldwide.
