A high-level economic delegation from the Central African Republic visited Laayoune on Friday to explore business opportunities in the region and review ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

This visit is part of the Economic Promotion Week of the Central African Republic in Morocco, which aims to showcase the country’s economic potential to Morocco in different sectors and foster the development of win-win business partnerships between Moroccan and Central African operators.

Lazare Doukoula, Minister-Counselor at the Presidency of the Central African Republic, highlighted his country’s rich mineral resources and a predominantly young population, noting that the visit served as an opportunity to explore ways to strengthen trade exchanges and promote bilateral investment opportunities.

The Central African official further expressed his country’s desire to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, particularly in the economic sector.

“Morocco is a brotherly country that has supported us during difficult times,” he said, commending the Kingdom’s continued support to the Central African Republic.

He also mentioned Morocco’s contribution to capacity building, pointing out that 1,500 Central African students are currently pursuing their studies in Moroccan higher education and vocational training institutions.

The visit is also in line with Africa’s broader South-South cooperation dynamic and the sharing of expertise for sustainable and mutual economic development.
