In a speech delivered at the opening of the Investment Round Table dedicated to financing Central African Republic’s National Development Plan (NDP) 2024-2028, held on September 14-15 in Casablanca, Touadéra expressed his “gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, whose vision of a united and prosperous Africa is today reflected by the generous welcome” extended to this gathering.
“The Kingdom of Morocco, under the enlightened guidance and exemplary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, has kindly hosted this vital meeting for the Central African people,” he said.
Touadéra affirmed that “Moroccan people, through their admirable resilience and ongoing commitment, symbolize the ideal of peace, stability, and prosperity,” praising the “excellent relations of friendship and cooperation” between Rabat and Bangui.
He recalled that the Central African Republic, “following decades of conflict and fragility, but also resilience,” is firmly committed to reconstruction and sustainable development.
Located at the heart of the African continent, the CAR, according to the Head of State, is a “land of promise and opportunity, rich in resources and strategically positioned geographically.” The NDP 2024-2028, prepared by his government, will serve as “the framework for designing, referencing, and implementing public policies aimed at improving the living conditions of the Central African population” over the next five years, he added.
The opening ceremony of this round table featured speeches from Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah, as well as representatives from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, the European Commission, the African Development Bank Group, the United Nations System, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Also attending the ceremony were Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Kayouh; Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni; Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Morocco to the UN Omar Hilale; Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) Mohamed Methqal; Director General of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) Khalid Safir, as well as several officials from public and private sectors.
