German leisure carrier Discover Airlines will launch direct flights to Agadir and Fez starting in winter 2026/27, bringing its total Morocco network to three destinations and up to 16 weekly flights.
The new routes begin in late October. Frankfurt will connect to Agadir twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays. Munich will serve Fez once a week, every Sunday. Both routes operate through late March 2027. Flight time on each route is approximately four hours, with morning departures and midday arrivals. Return flights land in Germany in the evening.
The Munich-Fez service will be the only direct connection between the Bavarian capital and the inland imperial city in central Morocco.
Agadir, situated along Morocco’s southwestern Atlantic coast, is one of the country’s most visited beach destinations. The city enjoys over 300 days of sunshine annually and boasts a wide, crescent-shaped beach stretching nearly 10 kilometers.
The Atlantic swells make it a popular destination for surfers, with nearby Taghazout established as one of Africa’s premier surf spots, drawing wave riders from across Europe year-round. Beyond the beach, Agadir offers water sports including kitesurfing, windsurfing, and deep-sea fishing.
The city serves as a gateway to Souss-Massa National Park and the foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, with opportunities for hiking, quad biking, and camel trekking in the surrounding terrain. It is also the commercial capital of the Souss-Massa region, with a significant fishing port and agricultural economy alongside its well-developed tourism infrastructure.
Fez holds UNESCO World Heritage status for its historic medina, one of the world’s largest and best-preserved medieval urban centers.
The old royal city, which served as Morocco’s capital for several centuries, contains over 9,000 narrow alleys and remains home to the University of Al Quaraouiyine, widely regarded as one of the oldest continuously operating universities in the world. Its traditional crafts markets, tanneries, and centuries-old architecture draw visitors and scholars alike.
The expansion follows a partnership agreement signed last week at ITB Berlin between Discover Airlines and the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT). The deal aims to strengthen ties between the airline and one of its growing destinations.
Discover Airlines has operated direct flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Marrakech since 2022. Those flights will increase to up to 13 weekly connections this coming winter, running alongside the two new routes.
The airline is a leisure carrier within the Lufthansa Group, operating out of Frankfurt and Munich. Its current fleet stands at 30 aircraft. By 2028, the fleet is set to expand to 40 aircraft, including the Airbus A350. A full cabin refurbishment of its Airbus A330 long-haul fleet is scheduled to begin in 2027.
In December 2025, Skytrax certified Discover Airlines as a 4-Star Leisure Airline, placing it among only three carriers worldwide to hold that specific rating. The assessment was conducted at the end of November 2025.
All new Morocco flights are available for booking on discover-airlines.com, lufthansa.com, and through German tour operators and travel agencies.
With 16 weekly flights across three Moroccan cities next winter, Discover Airlines will operate its largest Morocco schedule to date.
