The First Lady of the Republic of El Salvador, Gabriela Rodríguez de Bukele, visited on Monday in Rabat the Mohammed VI Research and Innovation Center, part of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health.
Rodríguez de Bukele’s visit falls within the framework of the partnership between the Lalla Asmaa Foundation and the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health in the field of scientific research on deafness.
Through this participatory and collaborative approach, the Mohammed VI Research and Innovation Center is contributing to the development of a medium- and long-term research project on hearing disorders, with the aim of achieving a comprehensive and early diagnosis based on genetic characteristics.
The Center, which includes laboratories in cellular biology and immunology, molecular biology and genomics, next-generation sequencing, and microbiology and infectiology, has conducted research that has led to the discovery of genetic causes of hearing disorders.
On this occasion, El Salvador’s First Lady received explanations on the Center’s various activities. The Center was founded with the vision of becoming a pioneer in the field of applied medical research, serving as a bridge between discoveries from fundamental research and the development of concrete applications to improve human health.
Its mission is to contribute to improving patient healthcare through the development of innovative and sustainable solutions in various areas, including prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Through its multiple activities, the Mohammed VI Research and Innovation Center aspires to be recognized as a Center of Excellence where cutting-edge research and innovation converge to create lasting impact, relying on an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach.
