Engineering Group Meinhardt has announced setting up a strategic hub in Morocco, describing the North African country as a critical hotspot for its strategy of expansion across Africa.
Meinhardt, which is also specialized in urban planning and consulting, said in a statement on Monday that the decision to establish presence in Morocco reflects the group’s commitment to contributing to sustainable and ambitious projects aligned with the priorities of the country and the broader continent.
Meinhardt CEO Omar Shahzad argued that the group’s aim in expanding its presence in Morocco is to capitalize on the opportunities offered by the North African country while exploring further African markets.
The group plans to collaborate with both private and public sectors to develop infrastructure seeking to contribute to Morocco’s economic growth and energy efficiency.
“Our global expertise, combined with local talent will enable us to deliver transformative projects for Morocco and the African continent,” he remarked.
Ehab Ibrahim, the group’s Managing Director of the MENA Region, said that Meinhardt aims to transfer its engineering and innovative technology expertise in Morocco.
In particular, he argued, the group is looking to transform its local office into a major hub for West Africa, recalling Morocco Vision 2030 and the group’s ambition to integrate in the county’s initiative.
