The Consulate General of Morocco in Barcelona continued, this weekend, its exceptional mobilization to meet the administrative needs of Moroccans residing within its consular district.
This initiative forms part of the ongoing mobilization of Moroccan consular services aimed at ensuring close monitoring of services provided to Moroccans living abroad (MREs) and improving their quality. It also reflects the Kingdom’s policy of proximity, in line with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, calling for bringing the administration closer to Moroccans around the world.
The operation is also part of the implementation of the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, focused on optimizing consular services, introducing new procedures, and adapting to the seasonal and professional constraints of users.
In this context, hundreds of consular services were delivered for the benefit of Moroccans residing in Barcelona and its region, particularly those who, for professional reasons or due to geographical distance, are unable to visit the consulate during weekdays.
In statements to MAP, several users expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the services provided, praising an initiative that is particularly useful for individuals whose professional obligations limit their access to consular services during working days. They also highlighted the constant attention paid by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Moroccan community living abroad.
The central services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently held a coordination meeting via videoconference with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Madrid and the twelve consulates general accredited in Spain, at the end of which several measures were adopted. These included extending public reception hours until 6:00 p.m., instead of 3:00 p.m., from Monday to Friday, as well as introducing duty services on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. These provisions aim to enable all users with appointments to complete their procedures under the best possible conditions.
It was also decided to maintain permanent mobilization of consular staff to ensure a rapid and effective response to the needs of Moroccan citizens.
