Former Argentina ambassador to Morocco Raul I. Guastavino was awarded the Alaouite Wissam of Order of Grand Officer by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Buenos Aires.

The Royal accolade was presented to Guastavino by HM the King’s ambassador to Argentina Fares Yassir, during a ceremony held on Friday evening at the Moroccan residence in the Argentinian capital.

The Wissam was awarded to the former Argentinian ambassador in recognition of his merits as a diplomat and his efforts to bolster bilateral relations and the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

On this occasion, Guastavino thanked HM the King for this recognition, expressing his “profound emotion” at being honored in this manner, after having spent five years at the head of his country’s representation in the Kingdom.

For his part, Fares Yassir recalled the milestones in the diplomatic career of Guastavino, who was previously ambassador to India. He also held positions at the Argentinian chancellery and was assigned to his country’s representations in France and the United States.

The reception, hosted by the Moroccan Embassy, was attended by several leading figures from the world of politics and the media, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Buenos Aires.
