Germany’s Federal Government Special Commissioner for Migration Agreements Joachim Stamp described Morocco as “strategic and reliable” partner in the field of migration.
In a statement to MAP following the 3rd meeting of the Morocco-Germany Permanent Mixed Migration Group in Essaouira, Stamp praised “the strong and deep migration partnership between the two countries,” emphasizing the shared desire to further strengthen them.
“Morocco is a trustworthy partner, with whom we have a collaboration based on mutual respect, shared responsibility, and a common vision of migration as a lever for development,” said the German official, who was leading a high-level delegation.
Highlighting the “excellent and exemplary” relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany, Stamp also noted the significant contribution of the Moroccan community living in Germany, which he described as a “true enrichment” to German society.
Discussing the prospects of legal mobility, the German official mentioned the new German law on skilled immigration, which “opens concrete opportunities for young Moroccans wishing to work, study, or undergo training in Germany, within a legal and structured framework.”
This meeting, attended by several high-level officials, is part of the constructive dynamics of the migration partnership and the strengthening of bilateral relations between Morocco and Germany.
It is worth noting that the Morocco-Germany Permanent Mixed Migration Group held its first meeting on January 23, 2024, in Marrakech.
