A heatwave accompanied by Chergui winds, with temperatures reaching up to 47°C, is expected from Wednesday to Saturday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced in an orange-level weather alert bulletin.
According to the DGM, temperatures ranging between 44°C and 47°C are forecasted from Wednesday to Saturday in the provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, and Oued Ed-Dahab.
Temperatures between 42°C and 44°C will affect, on Wednesday and Thursday, the provinces of Ouezzane, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Meknes, Sidi Kacem, Khémisset, Sidi Slimane, Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Azilal, Settat, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Youssoufia, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Taroudant, Guelmim, and Laâyoune.
Furthermore, temperatures ranging from 38°C to 42°C are expected during the same period in Taza, El Hajeb, Sefrou, Khenifra, Mediouna, Nouaceur, as well as in the interior of the provinces of Tanger-Assilah, Larache, Kenitra, Salé, Skhirat-Temara, Berrechid, El Jadida, Benslimane, Sidi Bennour, and Safi.
In addition, temperatures between 39°C and 44°C are expected on Friday and Saturday in the provinces of Ouezzane, Meknès, Fez, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, El Hajeb, Taza, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Beni Mellal, Khenifra, Khouribga, Azilal, Fquih Ben Salah, Settat, Rehamna, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Taroudant, and Guelmim, according to the same source.
