On the occasion of Throne Day, King Mohammed VI of Morocco granted royal pardons to 2,476 individuals.
Among those pardoned were several well-known figures from the fields of journalism and activism, including Taoufik Bouachrine, Omar Radi, Souleimane Raissouni, Maati Mounjib, Reda Taoujni, Youssef El Hirech, Imad Stitou, Afaf Bernani, Hicham Mansouri, and Abdessamad Ait Aicha.
The pardoned individuals had served varying prison sentences for different legal cases.
The Monarch traditionally issues royal pardons on Throne Day and other national and religious holidays.
