In the Euro-Mediterranean area as well as on the African continent, in the United Nations system as well as before the most demanding international bodies, Morocco’s lucid, serene and responsible leadership is now a benchmark, HM the King’s Advisor André Azoulay stated on Friday evening in Brussels.
“And where better to meet to discuss this than in Brussels, a European capital and a world city that built its contemporary modernity by welcoming all cultures, with a special place given to the Moroccan community of hundred thousand of our compatriots”, Azoulay stressed, speaking before over 300 figures gathered in the “Cercle Gaulois” ceremonial hall, an emblematic venue for major diplomatic meetings in Brussels.
“Tonight, I have chosen to put into perspective the exceptional diplomatic, economic, cultural and social momentum of my country, as well as the singular Moroccan reality withstanding the temptations of the denial of the Other and the spiritual and cultural divide, to show the world a Moroccan consensus that feeds on all its diversities”, HM the King’s Advisor recalled.
“Strengthened by the pioneering and visionary leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, this reality that I am sharing with you this evening is neither that of an agreed posture nor of an occasional ceremonial speech. It is the testimony of a reality that the Community of Nations would be well advised to take into account, in order to provide a different response to the current challenges of living together”, Azoulay added.
A boundless and resilient source of new ideas for reshaping our societies, Morocco, in the land of Islam, moves forward, builds and innovates through a national momentum rooted in the blossoming of all its traditions, while embracing modernity in its openness to the world“, HM the King’s Advisor concluded, expressing his gratitude to Moroccan Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Mohamed Ameur for his initiative in organizing this evening, the fruit of an exemplary partnership with Baron Francis Delpérée, President of the Association ”Les Amis du Maroc” (Friends of Morocco).
