Moroccan police arrested a French national flagged by Interpol on Tuesday in Casablanca, following a Red Notice issued under an international warrant from his country’s judicial authorities.

A search of the Interpol database revealed that the 42-year old was wanted in connection with the enforcement of a court judgment convicting him in a criminal case involving money laundering and links with an international drug trafficking network.

Conversely, a check of Morocco’s national police database revealed that the suspect was also wanted nationwide by Tangier’s judicial police for his alleged involvement in a case of assault and battery, according to a security source.

The suspect has been placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to clarify all the ins and outs of this case and determine all the criminal acts of which he is accused.
