Jointly organized by the African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI), Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), and the Phosboucraa foundation, the event will focus on the latest scientific advances in soil salinity, and best practices for counteracting the impact of climate change.

This conference is strongly linked to the massive impact inflicted by soil and water salinization, drought, and climate change on ecosystems, agriculture, means of livelihood and food security worldwide, a press release from the organizers says.

According to the organizers, the event aims to map areas already affected by salinity or at risk on a global scale, to develop and implement strategies and practices to effectively fend off this phenomenon.

In addition, the forum will review the progress achieved in the management of salinity and drought at the national, regional, and international scale, as well as the political practices of agricultural management in saline and dry areas.

The 2025 edition of the forum brings together researchers, national and international experts from several countries, as well as various stakeholders affected by issues related to the Saharan and saline contexts.
