Provincial authorities in Khenifra rolled out on Sunday an emergency response plan with field mobilization efforts in anticipation of the rising water levels of the Oum Er-Rbia River, which runs through the northern central city.
Interventions conducted in coordination with the relevant services and with the support of Civil Protection personnel focused on several key points along the riverbanks, by reinforcing surveillance and stepping up preventive measures against potential risks, particularly in flood-prone neighborhoods and tributaries connected to the watercourse.
These operations form part of a large-scale emergency plan implemented by the Provincial Monitoring Committee, based on continuous situation tracking, real-time data exchange, as well as forecasting and early warning mechanisms.
In the same context, a set of preventive measures was implemented to ensure the continuity of liquid sanitation services, focusing on the cleaning of networks and stormwater drainage channels, as well as the immediate repair of damage caused by recent storms in certain sections, with a view to preventing any disruption to the network.
The provincial authorities in Khenifra, in coordination with all stakeholders, are maintaining a highest alert until things return to normal, with a view to ensuring public safety and safeguarding lives and property.
This management framework combines vigilance and continuous mobilization, in line with High Instructions from HM King Mohammed VI, which place the safety of citizens and the protection of their property as an absolute priority.
