Morocco’s Lower House closed the first session of the 2024-2025 legislative year on Tuesday.
In an address on the occasion, the Lower House Speaker, Rachid Talbi Alami, emphasized that the session focused on further entrenching Morocco as an emerging power and attractive country at all levels, under the wise and insightful leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
In this regard, he reminded that the Sovereign had pointed out that “Despite past achievements, the next stage requires further mobilization and vigilance to pursue strengthening the position of our country, promote the legitimacy of our cause, and counter the maneuvers of our foes.”
Building on the Kingdom’s deep ties to Africa, the House places great emphasis on strengthening fruitful cooperation with the continent’s parliaments, he added, noting that numerous parliamentary delegations have been welcomed.
The House of Representatives’ efforts on the African front, he added, were crowned by hosting the meeting of the Presidents of Atlantic African Parliaments on the 6th of this month, as part of parliamentary support for the Atlantic African States Process (PEAA), which is considered one of His Majesty the King’s creative and authentic initiatives.
He noted that the fruitful discussions culminated in the “Rabat Declaration,” where participating parliaments committed to supporting the creation of a relevant parliamentary network.
