Morocco’s Consulate General in Madrid organized an iftar on Sunday evening in tribute to Moroccan women living in Spain, in recognition of their achievements and contributions in various fields.
This gathering, held in a friendly atmosphere on International Women’s Day, brought together several members of the Moroccan community and consulate staff for a moment of recognition in honor of Moroccan women who stood out for their commitment and achievements in various fields.
Speaking on this occasion, Consul General of Morocco in Madrid Kamal Arifi highlighted the active role of Moroccan women in the diaspora in advancing human and cultural ties between Morocco and its international environment, emphasizing their contribution to promoting the Kingdom’s image abroad.
He also noted that the celebration of International Women’s Day is an opportunity to highlight women’s contributions in various sectors and to encourage their increased participation in development momentum.
Several Moroccan women with remarkable careers were honored at this event in recognition of their achievements in various fields and their commitment to serving the Moroccan community in Spain.
In a statement to MAP, Hasna Arab, manager at the HLA Moncloa University Hospital in Madrid, expressed her pride in this distinction, highlighting the importance of promoting services in favor of international patients.
She noted that this healthcare facility offers support to diplomats and foreign tourists, from the moment they are admitted to the end of their treatment, and believes that this tribute is recognition of efforts made by Moroccan women in the diaspora in their fields of activity.
For her part, Zahra Arif, owner of a major fruit and vegetable distribution chain in Spain, expressed her joy and gratitude for this tribute, praising an initiative that highlights the careers and contributions of Moroccan women living abroad.
She also spoke of such initiatives’ role in encouraging women to further their efforts and projects in various fields of activity.
On this occasion, tribute was also paid to the female staff of the Consulate General of Morocco in Madrid who were coming to the end of their mission, in recognition of their service and contribution to improving consular work to the benefit of the Moroccan community.
