The Mohammed VI Mosque in Conakry, inaugurated Friday on the occasion of the Friday Prayer, is a “pledge of affection and loyalty” to the ties that have always united Morocco, under the leadership of the Illustrious Sovereigns of the Kingdom, and the brotherly Guinean people, Secretary General of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, Mohamed Rifki, said.

It is also a concrete illustration of the deep ties maintained, throughout history, by the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Guinea, Rifki told the press on this occasion.

He noted that this mosque was built in accordance with the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, Commanded of the Faithful, may God Preserve Him, who launched its construction works on February 24, 2017.

This religious monument was built, within the framework of Moroccan-Guinean brotherhood ties, to meet the needs of our Guinean brothers, Rifki underlined, adding that this initiative aims, among other things, to contribute to promoting the spiritual security of this brother country.

Rifki said that this religious building will aim to promote the values of peace and the religious constants shared by the two countries, under the auspices of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, chaired by HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful.

He said that the mosque includes, in addition to the prayer room, a library and a conference room, as well as commercial, administrative and educational outbuildings, adding that this religious monument, with a capacity of 3,000 worshippers, was built on an area of one hectare.

For his part, President of the section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema in Guinea, Abdelkarim Dioubate, welcomed the inauguration of this mosque, expressing his thanks to HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, for this gesture of kindness towards the people of Guinea.

The Mohammed VI mosque in Conakry is unique in Guinea due to its Moroccan design and architecture, Dioubate underlined, emphasizing the centuries-old ties of brotherhood between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.

In accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God assist Him, the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, in coordination with the competent Guinean authorities, inaugurated the Mohammed VI Mosque in Conakry, on the occasion of the Friday Prayer.
