Moroccan Delegation from Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema Receives Warm Welcome in Port Louis

A delegation from the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema received a warm reception during their visit to Mauritius this week. Led by representatives including Othman Sqalli Houssaini and Mohammed Maghraoui, the delegation engaged in fruitful discussions aimed at fostering collaboration and promoting the Foundation’s objectives of inter-religious dialogue and social development.

The delegation, accompanied by the president and members of the Mauritian Section of the Foundation, was graciously received at the Presidential Palace in Port Louis by Vice President Eddy Boissézon. During the audience, Boissézon commended the insightful vision of HM King Mohammed VI in serving African societies, emphasizing the importance of promoting inter-religious dialogue and spiritual peace.

Expressing Mauritius’ eagerness to collaborate closely with the Foundation, Boissézon highlighted areas of mutual interest and the potential for joint initiatives in religious education and social development.

The delegation also met with Vice Prime Minister Anwar Husnoo at the Prime Minister’s Office in Port Louis, where they discussed the Foundation’s initiatives and the potential for leveraging Moroccan expertise in religious affairs and heritage preservation. Husnoo praised HM King Mohammed VI’s efforts in promoting peace and stability in Africa and expressed support for the Foundation’s activities in Mauritius.

Throughout the meetings, Sqalli Houssaini elucidated the Foundation’s vision of promoting tolerance, coexistence, and fraternity in Africa. He underscored the Foundation’s commitment to contributing to the continent’s development and social cohesion, in alignment with HM King Mohammed VI’s visionary leadership.

The discussions underscored the strong commitment of both Mauritius and Morocco to fostering collaboration and advancing shared goals of peace, development, and intercultural understanding across Africa.
