The Moroccan pavilion at the 50th edition of the “Rétromobile 2026” classic car fair was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
The inauguration was attended by Moroccan Ambassador to France Samira Sitail, Director General of Morocco’s Maison de l’Artisan Tarik Sadik and Director of the exhibition Romain Grabowski.
Covering an area of 120m², the Maison de l’Artisan is supporting six Moroccan exhibitors in their first national participation in the 50th edition of this fair, where visitors can discover the first car made in Morocco, the sumptuous “Menara,” which showcases the contributions of Moroccan craftsmanship in upholstery and leather accessories.
The Moroccan pavilion includes a showroom hosting three exhibitors specializing in the manufacture of leather goods and a demonstration area run by three craftsmen (a panel beater, a mechanic, and an automotive upholsterer) performing live renovation and restoration work on a classic car.
In a statement to MAP, Sitail emphasized that the Kingdom has genuine expertise in the field of vintage vehicles that can be promoted internationally, noting that Morocco is the first country to participate in this show as a guest.
Morocco’s participation, she said, highlights skills ranging from mechanics to upholstery and sheet metal work, noting that this sector linked to vintage cars is still at a niche stage, driven by a well-established automotive tradition and culture of collecting in the country.
Sitail also pointed out that this participation is actively encouraged by the Kingdom, as it offers great visibility for Moroccan expertise. Finally, she highlighted the growing international appeal of classic cars, driven by the passion of collectors and the success of shows such as “Rétromobile,” which is set to welcome around 150,000 visitors over four days.
For his part, the Director of the “Rétromobile” fair expressed delight at hosting Morocco as a guest of honor at a special edition marking the 50th anniversary of French automotive heritage.
He specified that this year’s show (January 28-February 1) will welcome 600 exhibitors and 1,500 vehicles, all sharing a common passion and desire to pass on their knowledge. He noted that, for the first time at this show, Moroccan craftsmanship will be welcomed “with pride” to promote Moroccan expertise to French and international audiences.
