Moroccan authorities have intercepted a large shipment of cocaine at Tangier Med Port, preventing over 52kg from reaching the country´s streets.
According to the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN), the drugs were hidden inside the refrigerated system of a container arriving from Latin America.
DGSN shared the news on X, posting photos of the seized drugs and providing additional details about the operation.
The shipment passed through Tangier Med, one of Morocco’s busiest ports, before authorities discovered the cocaine.
The judicial police are investigating a transnational criminal network suspected of orchestrating the attempted smuggling operation.
Officials have not yet reported any arrests linked to the case.
Morocco also participated yesterday in an international maritime operation that led to the interception of the tugboat “Sky White” off the Canary Islands, which was carrying around 3 tons of cocaine bound for Europe.
