Morocco’s National Centre for Nuclear Energy, Science and Techniques (CNESTEN) and the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCK-CEN) sealed a cooperation agreement on the peaceful use of nuclear energy, on the sidelines of the World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE), held in Paris on November 4-6.
This agreement, signed by Hamid Marah, Director General of CNESTEN and Peter Beten and Derrick-Philippe Gosselin, respectively Director General and Chairman of SCK-SEN, aims to promote the exchange of experience and develop scientific research, teaching and training, in order to bolster regional and international skills in the use of research reactors, CNESTEN said in a press release.
CNESTEN and SCK-CEN are recognized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as International Centers based on Research Reactors (ICERRs), the same source added.
