Morocco and Cabo Verde are seeking to deepen cooperation in transport, logistics, and trade, officials said on Tuesday following talks between Moroccan Transport Minister Abdessamad Kayouh and Cabo Verde’s Foreign Minister José Filomeno de Carvalho Dias Monteiro.

The discussions, held in Rabat as part of Monteiro’s visit to the kingdom, focused on expanding bilateral collaboration in air, rail, road, and maritime transport, as well as strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

Kayouh underscored Morocco’s commitment to reinforcing logistics and transport links with Cabo Verde, calling for greater knowledge-sharing to accelerate key infrastructure projects.

He also emphasized the need to foster private-sector engagement, noting that the upcoming Morocco-Cabo Verde joint commission would serve as a platform for coordinating efforts and achieving strategic objectives.

Monteiro, for his part, hailed the partnership between the two countries, reiterating Cabo Verde’s consistent support for Morocco’s regional and international priorities. He also highlighted his country’s potential as a logistics hub in the Atlantic, positioning it as a gateway to bolster trade with West African nations.

The Cabo Verdean minister described his visit as a pivotal step toward strengthening bilateral ties, both at the institutional level and through enhanced private-sector collaboration.
