Morocco and Cameroon signed a military cooperation agreement on Tuesday, aiming to bolster defense ties through training, joint exercises, military health services, and technical assistance.

The deal was signed in Rabat during a meeting between Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of National Defence Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, and Minister Delegate to the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon, in charge of Defense, Joseph Beti Assomo, who led a high-level delegation, National Defense Administration said in a press release.

Loudyi reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to regional security and stability, highlighting the Royal Initiative launched by HM King Mohammed VI to establish Africa’s Atlantic coast as an economic and security hub.

For his part, Assomo said Cameroon prioritized its partnership with Morocco and praised Rabat’s South-South cooperation initiatives, launched by His Majesty the King.

Both sides agreed to implement the agreement, underscoring their commitment to strengthening the friendship relations between the two countries.
