The Kingdom was represented at the 47th session of the GFCM by a large delegation, including representatives from the Fisheries Administration, the National Institute of Fisheries Research (INRH), the National Fisheries Office (ONP) and the National Agency for Aquaculture Development (ANDA).

Chaired by Morocco, the scientific committee contributed to elaborating recommendations aimed at ensuring the sustainability of fish stocks, the conservation of marine habitats and the adoption of eco-responsible fishing practices, ensuring optimal management of fish resources in the Mediterranean region, according to the Moroccan delegation.

This award reaffirms the recognition by the FAO and its bodies of the Kingdom of Morocco’s efforts to apply responsible fishing regulations and practices, highlighting rigorous control, transparency, good governance in the fisheries sector and respect for international commitments in this area, the same source added.
