Morocco’s National Commission for the Coordination of Measures to Combat and Prevent Trafficking, chaired by the Ministry of Justice, welcomed to Rabat on Monday a high-level delegation from the Ministry of the Interior of the Kingdom of Eswatini, led by the Ministry’s Secretary General, Nhlanhla Nxumalo, in a bid to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of justice and the fight against human trafficking.

During this meeting, which aims to deepen cooperation and exchange experiences between the two countries, the National Commission gave a thorough presentation of the legislative and institutional framework governing the fight against human trafficking in Morocco, while highlighting the 2023-2030 National Plan, the national referral mechanism for victims of human trafficking, as well as the 2023-2026 national strategy to strengthen the integrated institutional response to this scourge, based on a participatory and integrated approach.

Meanwhile, the Eswatini delegation, on a working visit to the Kingdom from July 21 to 24, commended Morocco’s efforts in this field, underscoring the progress achieved in terms of institutional coordination, strengthening the legislative framework and improving judicial follow-up mechanisms.

The delegation also expressed its determination to learn from the Moroccan model and enhance bilateral cooperation channels by exchanging expertise and sharing good practices.

Following the meeting, the two sides underlined the importance of implementing a lasting and advanced partnership in terms of fighting against human trafficking, based on institutional interaction, the exchange of expertise and the strengthening of capacities, at the service of the two countries’ interests and in support of regional and international human security.
